Raku Fired Robin
These are hand made ceramic Robins. Each one is unique, they are decorated with a red raku glazed breast and the body and tail are covered in a copper wash. They are fired to 1000 degrees Celsius when they are removed from the kiln and placed on newspaper and sawdust. Once the paper has ignited, they are covered with an airtight metal lid to allow the flames to react with the copper and for the smoke to react with the clay.
Sizes vary at around 8cm tail to beak. Lovely as a festive gift.
